Chicken Road began in 2019 as a passion project by a small team of indie developers who shared a common vision: to create a game that was both simple to play yet challenging to master, while maintaining a family-friendly atmosphere that players of all ages could enjoy.
The concept for Chicken Road was born during a game jam where our founders were challenged to reimagine classic arcade concepts. Inspired by the timeless "crossing the road" premise but wanting to bring it into the modern era, we developed our first prototype featuring a charming voxel chicken navigating busy streets.
What started as a weekend project quickly evolved as we saw the joy it brought to our first testers. Children were delighted by the colorful voxel characters, while parents and older gamers appreciated the surprisingly strategic gameplay and the increasing challenge levels.
After securing initial funding in early 2020, our team expanded and we devoted ourselves full-time to developing Chicken Road. Through multiple iterations, player feedback sessions, and countless hours of refinement, we shaped the game into the polished experience it is today. Chicken Road was officially launched in spring 2021 and has since garnered a dedicated community of players who continue to inspire our ongoing development.
